I have driven almost all the way to Ohio for Judo Nationals for my kids. I am tired. My head hurts.
My wife thinks I'm nuts. But, I didn't have this experience with my Dad or my Step-Dad. I don't want my kids to miss the experiences we can have together now. I don't want to look back later and say, "I wish I had done this" or "I wish I'd done that" with my kids.
Life is about right now, not later. Later means your dead, your kids grow up and move out, etc. I want them to know I will spend as much time as I possibly can with them while they are still under my roof.
I wouldn't want it any other way.
